Artiste Zone

In the Artiste Zone, Polease has pulled together information that we feel will be of benefit to Supporting Artistes including pay rates, on-set etiquette, union information etc. You can also find really useful information in our FAQ's and our Useful links sections.

Here you will see what we can do for you, whether you are an existing SA  wishing to join Polease or wish to become a Supporting Artiste.

What Polease offers you

Polease, co-ordinates the supply of uniformed supporting artistes (Police and Emergency Services) to UK Film and Television production companies.

  • Polease operates in an open and honest way
  • We will not only stick to the law governing employment but to the spirit of the legislation
  • All pay we negotiate for you will be in accordance with published rates (or industry standards) where possible
  • We ask a fair percentage from the fees you receive for the jobs we find for you and we will only ask you to pay if you have completed that job
  • Also, we will endeavour to make sure you get paid as quickly as possible for all work you have done

Polease terms of business including current commission rates will be stated in writing and agreed with you at the start of your registration and you will be advised, in writing, of any subsequent proposed rate change.

Fair & Equal

Polease makes your CV or details available to Casting Directors and Assistant Directors seeking to fulfil specific roles, enhance set background or provide set dressing.

Polease will do everything in our power to ensure that all artistes are considered on a fair and equal basis, irrespective of age, sex, physical ability, ethnic background or union membership.

Agreements

Polease will stick to the letter and spirit of all PACT/FAA, BECTU and Equity Agreements (PACT, BBC, and ITV). Polease will maintain and uphold Guidelines in all areas of the entertainment industry at all times.

What we do NOT do

  • Polease is not an employment agency
  • We cannot guarantee you any work nor do we promise to find you any work
  • We do not take an upfront payment from you for joining the agency list
  • We do not require you to pay for a set of photographs
  • We do not require that you are only on our books
  • We do not require you to pay for "extras"
  • We do not make payments to the Inland Revenue for your tax or National insurance - this is down to each artiste
  • Polease will not knowingly provide placements unless you are legally entitled to work in the UK

Artiste CV Register

In addition to co-ordinating the placement of artistes to known jobs, Polease can create an online presence for your CV (example) and we will maintain it for you, updating the details after each job you complete.

Each website could aid you in obtaining work. All we ask is that if you are independently contacted via the website, you instruct the production company to contact Polease before engaging you.
