Supporting Artistes
- No job can proceed without Polease receiving a signed Production Company agreement.
- Any Supporting Artiste who takes up the offer of a free on-line CV does so
on the understanding that neither Polease or its agent, Priday Design Studio,
will be held liable for mistakes, errors or omissions. The Supporting Artiste
is responsible for ensuring that either Polease or Priday Design Studio are
supplied with the information and/or photographs needed to create and/or
maintain the on-line CV. All participating SA's will be given a view of
their newly completed on-line CV BEFORE it is published to the wider world and
must point out any errors at this time.
- Polease does NOT charge Supporting Artistes a Book Fee.
- All existing Supporting Artistes are free to join Polease at any time, upon agreement of these terms and acceptance of the published commission rates.
- Supporting Artistes are not precluded from joining more than one agency by joining Polease. In fact Polease recommends that Supporting Artistes be represented by more than one agent.
- Polease is not an Employment Agency and therefore you (the Supporting Artiste) are not contracted to Polease for short-term or long-term employment.
- During the course of the job all artistes’ employment status will be dependent upon the specific contract with the production company.
Nothing in this agreement shall render artistes to be employees of Polease in any way.
- Polease aims to co-ordinate with Film and Television production companies the supply of uniformed supporting artistes to play roles mainly representing
the UK Police & Emergency services, although Polease members are able to fulfil other roles in productions.
- Polease may, from time to time, issue items of clothing and/or equipment to an individual S.A. to enable the required role to be completed. At all times
this clothing and equipment remains the property of Polease. Artistes are required to ensure that all such material is kept in good order and returned to
Polease on completion of a production or contract. Polease reserves the right to recover the cost of this clothing and/or equipment from the artiste if it is not
returned or is damaged beyond reasonable repair.
- All participating Supporting Artistes agree to abide by the On-Set Etiquette set out on this web site (click
here) at all times while on a set.
- All Supporting Artistes are required to be mindful, that once they have accepted an assignment offered by Polease that they are representing Polease and should
conduct themselves accordingly.
- Safe working practices must be followed at all times. It is important that the individual makes themselves aware of current safe
working practice, and uses all of the personal protective equipment issued. All safety or health instructions issued by a responsible person whilst on set must
be fully adhered to.
- Polease reserves the right to refuse to represent any person suspected of not being eligible to work as a Supporting Artiste in the
UK.
- Polease reserves the right to terminate any Supporting Artistes representation for a breach of these Terms of Business, for bringing the good name of Polease
into disrepute or constantly failing to fulfil assignments previously accepted (without good reason). Polease will remain the sole arbiter of what constitutes
"good reason".
- All Supporting Artistes joining Polease agree to Polease deducting the relevant commission rate (and/or other agreed fees) from
monies received from production companies, prior to passing payment for an assignment to the Supporting Artiste.
- Polease promises the Supporting Artistes it represents that it will a) do all in its power to obtain early payment for all work assignments and b) that it will
make prompt payments to the relevant Supporting Artiste.
- All payments to Supporting Artistes will be made by cheque unless agreed otherwise in advance.
- Polease has no responsibility for making payments to the Inland Revenue for a Supporting Artistes Income Tax or to H.M. Custom &
Excise for the Supporting Artistes National Insurance contributions.
