Chris Hopes for SitCom Hit!
Actor Chris Hipkiss is hoping his newest venture will prove to be a homegrown hit.
Weedkillers is a new comedy sitcom currently being filmed by an ambitious bunch of friends, actors and extras.
Mr Hipkiss, 57, who has been living in Hucclecote (Goucester) for the past five years, is hoping sitcom will find its way onto televisions across the UK.
He said: "It's in its infancy at the moment, we've filmed on episode, and now we're in the process of sending it around to the relevant people.
"The humour of it us somewhere in between Benny Hill and the Good Life.

Extras
"In all of this doom and gloom in the country at the moment, it's good to have a bit of silliness. It's definitely got legs. There doesn't seem to be any home-grown sitcoms at the moment, so who knows."
Mr Hipkiss, who plays the part of Sergeant Rowbottom in the sitcom, also runs Polease, a casting agency for police extras and emergency services uniformed actors, from Gloucester.
"We've worked on a number of projects, including providing the uniforms for Midsomer Murders," he added.
Filming for Weedkillers took place in Hollywood, but the cast didn't even have to cross the Atlantic.
"We filmed the first episode in the West Midlands in a little place called Hollywood", said Mr Hipkiss.
"It is totally incidental but quite apt at the same time. It was really good fun as we've all worked together before on different projects."
This original sitcom was creatred and written by Coventry born comedian/actor Jimmy Riddle.
It is based around a self-employed gardener called Eddie Andrews and his fellow work Enoch Lactavich and their interaction with the inhabitants of a small English village.
The ultimate goal is for the pilot episode of Weedkillers to be successfully aired and further episodes to be commissioned.
"It's all very exciting at the moment, " added Mr Hipkiss. "If we can get it out there it would be great."
